ARP Head studs



The ARP Head Studs for the Evolution X are constructed of a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to aircraft quality. This alloy is heat-treated to 190,000 psi for complete heat penetration. Following heat-treat, each stud is centerless ground to make it as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. Because ARP studs are manufactured to such exacting tolerances, you will note that gaskets and cylinder heads literally glide into position and are perfectly aligned, something that will not happen with inferior quality head studs. ARP studs are thread rolled after heat-treat, which gives them about 1000% (that is ten times) better fatigue strength than those studs that are threaded prior to heat-treatment.

ACL Main bearings



ACL's main bearings are made of a softer metal so that you don't wear out your crank or engine block. Additionally, a thin layer of oil lubricates the connection between the bearings and the crank allowing the crank to "float" and reduce wear. Proper support via main bearings is crucial to prevent oscillations and wear that can damage the crankshaft and other components as the motor moves further out of balance.
Bearings with extra oil clearance will absorb the stress of higher horsepower motors greater, but will see increased wear during start up. We recommend these be purchased by experienced professionals only.

ACL Rod Bearings



When doing rods and pistons, it's a good idea to replace the rod bearings as well. Proper support via main bearings is crucial to prevent oscillations and wear that can damage the crankshaft and other components if the motor should move out of balance. ACL's high quality rod bearings will prevent fatigue, failure, and reduce drivetrain stress through their durable and strong design.

GSC Power Division cams



Stage 1
Stage 1 cams are designed for the Evolution X with the stock turbo or with a larger turbo pushing up to the 550hp range. The S1 cams will not sacrifice any bottom end loss compared to the stock cams; nothing but gains and will promote faster spooling of upgraded turbos. Gains of 20-50whp (depending on Turbo) have been seen by simply bolting the S1 cams in. Designed for a rev range of 3000-7500rpms, these cams work well on the stock valve springs.

Stage 2
Stage 2 cams are for the Evolution X shooting to eclipse the 600HP mark. GSC power-Division has seen gains of 20-60whp (depending on which turbo you are running). These 274/274 cams require upgraded springs and retainers.

Brian Crower Cams



Brian Crower cams for the 08-10 Mitsubishi Evolution X are manufactured to exacting precision. Brian Crower high performance Evo camshafts are ground on state-of-the-art CNC cam grinders to ensure accuracy and tolerances to within .02mm. Every Brian Crower Evo X camshaft profile has been prototyped and dyno tested for proven horsepower results prior to being produced. By grinding cores in high volume, Brian Crower, Inc. is able to pass the cost savings on to the end user. Brian Crower produces first-rate cams at affordable prices.
All Brian Crower Evolution X cams are checked on a high speed, sub-micron accuracy measuring gauge. Brian Crower uses an Adcole Camshaft Measuring System with individual measuring heads for each cam journal and cam lobe. This instrument has .01 micron resolution, taking one datum point each 1/10th of a degree or 3,600 data points per revolution. Up to 200 Brian Crower cams per hour are checked for errors in rise and for any chattermarks.
Evo X cams are available in 272°/272° and 280°/280° specifications. We suggest using Brian Crower Evo valve spring and retainer kits for the 272° cams, and it is required with the Evo 280°/280° cams.

Brian Crower Rods



Brian Crower rods for the 4B11 engine are made from 4340 billet steel. All Brian Crower rods are designed for high horsepower forced induction and high-revving naturally aspirated engines. Manufactured in state-of-the-art CNC machining centers, Brian Crower rods are a high-precision choice for your Evo X. These are full sets of four (4) rods including aluminum bronze bushings. BC offers bRods with ARP2000 fasteners or custom 625+ rods and ARP625+ fasteners

Carrillo rods



If you are looking for connecting rods that can take whatever you can throw at them, look no further. Carrillo connecting rods are forged and use only the strongest materials to ensure they will hold massive amounts of power. They are run through a thorough inpection process once finished to ensure each rod is made to the highest quality standard. These rods are for enthusiasts that require the absolute best and will not compromise on quality.
Carrillos's Pro-Super A beam (Pro-SA) rods are lighter than the traditional H-beam style rod, yet still unbelieveably strong. Pro-Super A beam rods bridge the gap between Pro-H and standard Pro-A rods, designed for use in mid to high horsepower and high boost turbocharged and supercharged applications. Pro-Super A beam rods allow for more horsepower and higher RPMs with the advantage of a reduced windage design. Pro-Super A beam rods for the Evo X ship with standard 3/8th inch WMC cap bolts and are rated to 800whp, they are great for cars that see both street and race driving.
The H-beam rod has become the industy standard design for high-performance applications. Considering the best overall performance of the part, combined with the least amount of weight, the H-beam is Carrillo's strongest, most durable design available. Carrillo H-beam rods are recommended for race applications where no compromise in performance is possible. Pro-H rods for the Evo X available with 3/8th inch cap bolts in either standard WMC or Carrillo specific design which can be retorqued as many times as you want and will not need to be replaced. These rods are for 1000+whp race only machines and are not optimal for street use.

Manley Rods



Manley has been in business since 1966 producing aftermarket and OEM engine internals, supplying such cars as the Ford GT. Manley's premier connecting rod series is the Turbo Tuff line which was designed to be the best money can buy. Manley Performance is synonymous with winning and their products power some of the fastest cars around. Turbo Tuff I Beam Rods: Manley Turbo Tuff I Beam Rods are made using forged 4340 aircraft quality vacuum degassed material. Manley Turbo Tuff rods are machined in house, in the USA, to ensure the highest quality product. Each rod is shot-peened after machining and magnafluxed. The bores are round with no taper and these rods use APR 2000 cap screws for ultimate strength

K1 Technologies rods



K1 Technologies connecting rods are quality built from billet 4340 steel for superior strength in high horsepower applications. K1 has also called upon the experts at ARP fasteners to design special K1 proprietary rod bolts with asymmetrical threads to equally load each thread when under pressure. K1 rods are shot peened for improved fatigue life and are finished in the USA using only state of the art Sunnen hones. K1 rod housing bore tolerances of +/- .000050in (50 millionths) match some of the tightest accepted tolerances in the industry. All K1 rod sets are weight-matched to +/- 1 gram and boxed with the individual rotating, reciprocating, and total weights conveniently noted for balancing. A special wrist pin bushing material is also used with these assemblies offering optimal friction

CP Pistons



From Drag to Endurance CP pistons have proven their quality in the racing community. These pistons for the 08-10 Evo X are avialable in 86mm stock bore, 86.5mm w/ 0.5 overbore, or 87.0mm w/ 1.0mm overbore and retain a 9.0 compression ratio. These pistons are designed for high horsepower applications and are much stronger then OEM due to the forging process CP uses. The CP pistons for the Evo X 4B11 are an excellent choice for your engine build.
CP offers optional coatings to enhance the effectiveness of your pistons. The top coating is designed to reflect heat into the combustion chamber, thereby increasing exhaust gas velocity and greatly improving scavenging potential. The skirt coating offers additional lubricant in times of extreme heat or heavy wear situations. The coating is designed to reduce friction on the skirt by providing a buffer to the cylinder. Coating options are applied to the entire set and add 4-6 weeks to the order time.

Wiseco Pistons



World renowned for their race winning pistons, Wiseco uses their diverse experience in building high performance engines for Formula 1, Indy Racing League, and NHRA Pro Stock to design and manufacture the highest technology sport compact pistons available. Every set of Wiseco sport compact pistons are made from dedicated in-house forgings to produce a light weight piston with superior strength and optimal design. As a multivalve piston technology leader, Wiseco pistons feature specially designed valve pockets, complex dome and crown shapes, stainless steel gas nitride rings and optimized skirt profiles. All Wiseco sport compact pistons also come standard with their proprietary ArmorGlide skirt coating material for reduced friction, freeing up additional horsepower. Wiseco pistons for the Evo X 4B11T engine are sold as a full set of four (4) pistons and include all corresponding rings, pins and clips.
