So here's a weird install question...

Figured I'd post it here in ETS's section to hopefully get a response from them but here's the skinny...

I just installed the ETS intake and FMIC and piping on my 13 GSR. The intake was first and I drove around a few days and the turbo spool was a little louder. Now yesterday, I tossed the FMIC and piping on and it's LOUD. I mean it sounds like a jet engine if I'm not jumping on the car. For the record -- I'm not pounding the car since I'm getting tuned next week.

I'm just curious if it is normal to have it sound like a dang jet with the piping. Maybe it's because it's been 2 years since I've owned a turbo car. My concern is that when I opened the FMIC, the cold side had some peanuts stuffed in there because the blue tape covering the outlet had got a hole in it. I cleaned out the end tank, stuff a mirror in the end tank to look around and saw nothing. I'm just scared a rogue peanut flew in the snail.

But, if the sound is normal, cool. It's just really high pitched until I get to spooling it up past 3500 or so.

Thanks.

Hard pipes make the sound change.

Cool...thanks! I figured the rubber masked the sound but it is whiney!!! Kinda like me right now but I tightened a few T-clamps and it took away a smidgen of the sound.

Just finished the Works shifter install and bushings. Exhaust left...then a tune!

Eh. Hosed the couplers down with soapy water. Boost leak. Much quieter now.

I knew I wasn't going crazy!

When cinching down tbolts you should soap them up to help then slide over the couplers. Otherwise they can pinch then as you tighten and creat boost leaks.
