If the guy really was doing doughnuts in the car, and he probably was on dry pavement to stip teeth in the x-fer case, he should be fired and maybe even sued or charges pressed. There is no EXCUSE *******NONE******** for playing with someone's vehicle, a brand new special edition vehicle at that. He has probalby done only God knows what to other's people cars and must not have any respect or self control. Do someone else a favor and punish this monkey severely so that it does not happen again.

On a less condemning note, the dealership did an excellent job in taking care of you and if I was the detail shop I would have given you three 100 dollar bills, not gift certificates...please. I wouldn't take a car near that two bit crack house "detail" shop if my life depended on it. Sorry to hear the experience of a lifetime was somewhat dampened. Hope you have a trouble free experience with your MR from here on out.

If you have any friends with a POS sundamaged clunker, those gift certs would make a perfect christmas gift. I certainly wouldn't take your new MR back there.

take a look at the thread on the general forum, there have been guys buying evo's that have had some serious problems that appear to have happened when they were driven while at the dealer and redlined. I would tell you no way man, find another car, i dont trust anyone anymore. My evo had 8 miles on it and it was sitting in the showroom at the time I bought it. it was only ever driven at the factory and just around the dealership but not on the road, at least not that i know of and that is comfort enough for me.

I'm in total agreement with this guy. could you press charges or have something done?

I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end. It sounds like you got a hell of a deal. I also hope the dealer fully discloses the damage that occured to the unit originally intended for you to the next guy or gal that comes along to buy it. I bet it will get pimped out to some low volume dealer that gets a poor allotment of Evos and no one will be the wiser.
I'd keep him on staff and make him repay the costs incurred through weekly "deductions".

really wouldnt put so much concern into. Yes, i would be upset too...just take a discount and if they dont, dont worry about it.
Umm, too late, he already got the new one. Didn't you read that the transfer case had stripped gears?? I can't freakin believe that, just a quick joyride and he focked up the car that bad. That ******* should definitely have some lawsuits comin his way. I cannot believe he didn't get fired. I would never go back to that place, even with the gift certificates, as long as that ***** is workin there. Either that or I'd go there and punch him in the face.

Spoot, which dealership is this? Executive? If so, they treat you a lot better than they treat me.

^ Mark, Allen and Randy always have seemed to take care of me extremely well. Only other dealerships that treat me the same way are Herb Chambers Honda, and Inskip Audi.

Until I heard what was wrong with the car, I thought you were overracting a bit... But now that I know, I feel you totally made the right decision. That detailer needs to be stun gunned in the nuts. How in the crap you break a car that bad on a <15 mile drive is completely beyond me. I've seen 500whp Evos that are holding up well, and this guy breaks one in less than 20 miles. Unbelievable.

Kudos to the awesome dealership and I hope you enjoy the car from VA!
