How about some speculative chest-thumping?

Who do you think will be the first get the X into 11 second territory (11.99 or better)?
One of the professional tuners? AMS, or Buschur, maybe some other tuner?
Or just someone with enough determination and know-how? Do you think it will be you?
And how long do you think it'll take for this to happen?
(And those of you who have nothing nice to say about the X, I'm hoping this thread holds no interest for you. I just want to have a fun thread here.)
I think it'll be some guy who knows his way around an engine and wants to be the first to 11 seconds. If the X is released in Feb, I say it'll happen in September, so 7 months.

It'll be interesting, its going to be a good race (especially for the consumers). Every competitors going to want to be the first to reach 11 seconds, 300whp, or break some sort of record. The 4G63 had everything all the after market support from the DSM platform and the older Evo's, so its going to be interesting this time around with the Evo X. I come from the BMW forums where the 335i was first modded by Vishnu and it seems only companies offer there support for modding there, while it seems members on this board who know what they're doing are offering ECU tunes and modifying there own cars themselves, basically all custom work.
Honestly, I'd want it to be someone in this forum that does it, and then maybe help others in this forum, so we don't get ripped off for $1,200 ECU tunes and stuff. Although parts wise it seems like only big companies are going to take that and the same companies that people are buying from are going to continue because they're known for their parts. (GReddy, HKS, etc [I'm tired I can't think of that many lol])...

We may be surprised. For instance, over on IWSTI.com there's a guy who's fabbed up his own exhaust header and a reversed intake. There are peopel out there that will say "F-it, I'll do it myself" when the parts aren't out there or are too expensive. And bragging rights are a powerful motivator in the car world.
i love my ix but i hope the ten is absolutly awsome ill bet there is huge aftermarket support from all the top dogs but like any new car its gonna be a little while

Well it depends? If the X turns out to be capable of mid 12s stock, then hitting 11s shouldn't be so difficult. A tune probably wouldn't even be needed. Just a TBE and Intake. Then again if the EVO X is just as fast as a EVO IX, then it may take a while. Also there are other factors, such as gearing and launching the EVO X. I know a lot of people like to bash the new transmission that will be available for the EVO X, but it may turn out to be extremely impressive on the drag strip.

It is also going to depend on how easy it is to tune the car. It might not be as easy to get in and flash these like it has been with the older Evo's. It probably won't take much to hit the 11's if they can be flashed easily. Bump the boost and put some race gas in and maybe dump some weight.
