Evo X took a step back!
+1 Keep Your Evo, The 30,000-40,000 Sports Car Market Is Pretty Crowded With The 335i, G35, Is350/isf, C Class, Tsx/tl, A4, These People Are Not Gonna Cross Shop With The Mitsu X. Save Your Money And Wait For The Deep Discounts On The X
The thing is that this site is for all the EVO and Lancer generations.
Not just the X. For particular threads that keep popping up on how the X is s**t.
And for redline, that site could be for you too.
So I am not sure why you dropped that comment. Your part of the same mass.
Since the category is FUTURE EVO MODELS, I believe ANYONE can say what they want, but damn....knocking & bashing the car constantly, AND it's the same guys?
Sounds like you need to take your own advice.
P&L for Mitsubishi is doing a great job. And the X will be the straw that broke the camels back.
Here is the irony, for all the guys who own EVOS and bash the new X. The more you bash, you actually might convince people not to buy it. And the more you convince people that the car isn't an EVO, the "fanbase" dies down. Hence a small portion of consumers, will eventually not buy the car. Memes spread and ideas are adopted quite quickly. And then when Mitsu doesn't make the sales, eventually they will pull out of the US no longer selling any future models.
That's why the haters here aren't really doing any justice for themselves, either.
They are hurting themselves and they are eventually going to push other people out of buying an EVO cause the previous EVO owners who fancy themselves as experts of the car, just so happens to know better then the Car Mag reviews.
Evo with piggy? WTF?
okaaay.
Do you guys wait for a thread to bash?

Exactly.
What is the point of that when it's a car that is supposed to evolve?
Isn't that what happened with all the Evo's predecessors?
I mean how many previous EVO owners upgraded to the next Evo as they came out?
And these SAME comments kept budding up.
I wonder how many EVO haters end up buying the X on this round?
It's going to comical to see familiar names who were haters, have the X as their new avatar.

Everyone keeps bringing up the fact that C&D claims the EVO X is a hair faster around laps than the IX or VIII... Did anyone else notice the X is running 245/17s vs everyone else's 235/17s, along with the ability to dial in the torque distribution? The wheels are also lbs lighter. Given the small difference in times, I imagine an VIII or IX with 245s and lighter rims should close the gap, just like how an VIII with a tune will close the gap on a IX in acceleration.
Personally, I don't care for the looks of the X, and that is a big factor for me, however, I own a IX, and I prefer the front facia of the VIII over the IX, but I bought my IX anyway because the overall changes swayed my decision. My other concern with the X is the engine change when the 4g63 is proven. I know the new engine is lighter, but that only matters if the car, overall, is lighter as well, or that the center of gravity is lower. So I hope that is not the only reason Mitsu swapped it up.
Who knows, overall, it may end up being the better car, time will tell. But, I personally left the Subaru Community (owned two 04's) because of the way their cars were going with looks and feel, plus changing to newer, unproven components, despite the fact that they are quicker now. The EVO IX may be my last Mitsu for the same reasons. But like I said, time will tell. This new X setup may be more durable and take to modifications like no other. I am just not one to jump into a completely remodeled vehicle until they've been around long enough to know what it will truly be capable of and that it will hold together.

forget the Evo X. I'm one step ahead of you guys, hail the Evo XI!!! (even though it hasn't even been fathomed yet) but yea on looks alone I'm really downplaying the evo X, and I don't care how much better it is. my perceptions may change once it actually arrives and aftermarket goodies come into affect. but so far I'm not anticipating it at all. it's all personally bias if you ask me. I felt the same way when the new IX came out and Mitsubishi ditched the 4g63.

Yay someone finally banned Vigo! What a glorious, glorious day lol. For someone who didn't even own an Evo he seemed to hold some really annoyingly strong opinions.
I think everyone just needs to calm down about this topic. The Evo X will not be an all out race car like the Evo1-9. It will be very heavy, semi-luxurious, and not very tunable (give it maybe 5-6 years) but it is definitely chock full of awesome technology that gives it some big pluses. If you are looking for an all out time attack machine, buy an 8 or 9. The 10 will attract alot of non-tuner buyers that don't plan on modifying their cars, and there is nothing wrong with that. The Evo X is more mature than its brethren, because Mitsubishi is trying to target a non-niche market now (to compete against the likes of BMW, Audi, etc.).
R.I.P. 4G63

Still just because the EVO X isn't for some doesn't make it a bad car like some these haters like to make it out to be. Not saying you are one of the bashers, just using your qoute as an example to give out some much needed advice to the irrational. I never thought I'd see the day when EVO owners would bash EVOs and not even bring up legitimate reasons for this hate.
I´m just curious how many of you have seen it personally and took it on test drive?
Mitsu did a good job aspecially in interior
it looks like a well builded car and you shall judge after you have personall experience
Journalist have this or that opinion, but who says their right?
To be honest I saw better designed cars
as well faster cars
but take it on B roads with lot of turns and see who will be the king of the hill than
and last one
much better than the new Impreza

I caught that too.
But this can go back and forth.
In time, an X will be able to swap out heavy to light parts (hopefully) and then close the gap on an XI (if there is one) and so forth.
