Evo X took a step back!
You tell me like a i give a flying F
Im not defending the X because i am buying one no no. I am far from getting one i am just defending it because threads like these have been made thousands of times and its getting old.
I really dont care if you think the X is ugly, i was just saying 0-60 doesn't constitute a ****ty car which most of the haters are thinking.
My point is don't write the car off before you've driven one because i can gaurantee you, you won't feel the difference between your 9s 0-60 and the X 0-60.

I can understand a little disappointment, but honestly I think some of you haters take your hate just a little too far. Calling the X a slow poke, is just ridiculous. It may not be as quick as a IX in a straight line, but that doesn't mean it is slow. Also styling wise, I cannot see in any way how anybody could say the 08-09 STI is a better looking car, I wonder if your hate for the X has limited your ability to freely think. Seriously the 08-09 STI looks like a $22,000-$25,000 car and it will have a hard time finding people to dish out close to $35,000 for that car. Sorry hatches have historically been unsuccessful in the USA, with few exceptions, but these exceptions do not cost more than $30,000. Also while many of us EVO owners are bit disappointed by the EVO X, the same cannot be said of other boards who seem to appreciate the fact that the EVO is maturing. I don't agree with this, and would have liked for Mitsubishi to both offer a more commuter friendly EVO X and a hard core racing version, hopefully this will be the EVO X RS. But still I cannot ignore the fact that while I might not like it, the EVO X will most likely be a good seller, and probably out sell the EVO IX and VIII. Still my disappointment is that the EVO X will be a good seller, while I believe Mitsubishi had a great opportunity to turn it into a great seller.
i don't think the evo was built to go fast on straightaways anyway...thus it being a rally car from its history. enough said. you guys that complain about it being slow on the 0-60 shoulda bought you a freakin' v8 muscle car. only the kids here in the u.s. are so obsessed with going fast on straights...everyone else around us actually like to enjoy "driving".
that's just my opinion though...i still love my evo viii.

Sure, the stats might not be jumping off the page over the VIII/IX, but I bet it can do more with less.
For instance look what the IX could do over the VIII with the same mods. I think we will see similar gains here. I think Mitsu is giving us an even better platform to start with, eventhough the "stock" numbers might not tell us that.
Also, do you really think you will be able to drive the car well enough to notice .1 here, .01 one there?? I think not...
People get all caught up in the most minute #'s and forget to realize what step Mitsu is trying to take in making us a better car.

hmmm...they are saying 2 seconds faster around a certain track vs an evo 9 stock for stock. Motor Trend got a .97g on the skidpad. It may be porkier and a bit slower in the straight line, but hot damn this is looking like a big improvement on a track with turns. Sounds good to me, and this coming from a straight line fan.

hows that saying goes "be careful what you wish for"
countless threads existed showing how people complained about the interior of the car. Well mitsubishi gave you what you asked for. And now your complaining about the performance. Sounds like you all are like grumpy old men who are never happy.
At any rate, this is the first time mitsu went with the new aluminum block. Give them a break. im sure this new engine will take off in futur models after they get more time to work with it.

I dont care if you "give a flying F" this is a forum where people make threads and express their opinions, that was mine. Do you even own a evo? That might help you understand where I'm coming from. I think this is a new breed of evo not just a next gen model, and so far I'm not a fan. Dont like what I have to say? Tough ****.

has a plan of mass producing the X since
has a hope and a dream that the X will appeal to more people other than the hardcore enthusiasts...hmmm...time will tell...I honestly think if they wanted to sell more eVo's they just should have improved on the current lancer making tossing a turbo and making it an equvilant to what Subie's WRX is...and should have left the eVo for the hardcore enthusiast...just my $.02
