Odds are its already past the drawing boards... Automotive cycles are pretty quick, especially in terms of Evos. I know nothing about it, but this isnt that strange of a question.

well i know it isn't strange but there's no way Mitsu would release info on the 11 right after the release of the X

What do you mean especially in terms of Evos? Mitsu more or less used the same body style for the evo 7 8 and 9 (2001 - 2006.).. thats a good 6 years of basically the same car.

if sales dont go up and people start leaning more towards electric and hybrid's there might not be a XI

assuming mitsubishi A) doesnt attempt to merge with anyone B) doesnt go bankrupt

This economy is going to hurt big time

What do you think he means? He considers each incarnation of the evo an "automotive cycle"..... Three cycles in 5 five years. Not sure how you missed that. We're talking about an Evo xi, not xiii

1-2-3 same general body, 4-5-6 same general body, 7-8-9 same general body, now the x. each "evolution" of the car generally runs like 1-2 years. so i dont see the xi being too far off. but then take into consideration the economy and the car is growing in the states maybe they will slow down "evolution" and keep the models a bit longer. just my observation anyway. ive only owned a 2,4,8 and 9. simple observation.

Actually Mitsu already thought and considered this back in 2005 when they were thinking about creating the MIEV Evo IX, so if the demand does grow in the electric field, there's a good probability the MIEV Evo will see the light of day.

Edit:
When you compare the MIEV to that of the original evo the differnce isn't too much:

Evo IX

Power Output: 289 bhp
0-100: 12.7

Evo IX MIEV
Power Output: 268
0-100: 7.4
