2011/2012 changes for the X?
It's interesting you should say that. I was talking to my wife and telling her how I wanted her to really learn to drive a manual to understand my pleasure in driving my IX (I wouldn't let her learn on it!). She replied, "I think manual transmissions are becoming obsolete." First, I was shocked she used a word like obsolete, then her response got me thinking. I don't think they will ever go away, but it seems that manufacturers are really trying to diversify their market.

335 has hit 560+ whp on stock turbos. There is a thread over there right now about it. Granted, that's not 1000+ that Evos have hit, but 500+ is plenty for me. Not much can out tune a 4G63... but just putting it out there.
And, I would take a X to go along with my 335 IF it had 6 speed.

Sorry if this is a redo of a thread of a string of a post off another thread.. but i have really been holding off on the Evo X. Currently drive a ix mr.. and i would jump into a new X if they had an option to where the MR has A manual. I drove the new X MR and reallly didn't like it all to much the GSR is good but i really like my 6 speed. . maybe you can go around a turn faster with the new system. . but you can't really launch for ****. I know the car is made for circuit.. but wtf... i can't see myself using a paddle shift like an old man in his ****in lambo...
Mitsu should bring back the option for a manuel on the MR. Anyone know if they have 6 speed manuels in Japan?? or if they plan on bringing one in the future to the states... thanks.
Ferrari dropped all their manual transmissions as of this year
It's funny you should mention this, I would actually only buy the Evo 9 MR, but as soon as I up the power, I'd swap it out for the 5-speed and get some beefy clutches. It's sad to see manual slowly fading away

2011 Evolution GSR upgrades
I was at a local dealer today and got to talking to the sales manager.. I kept asking about the 2011.. he finally told me ordering started last tuesday and the upgrades are as follows.
GRS available leather and sunroof package.
Re-designed center console.
not sure what else if anything else
I cant wait as I almost bought a 2010 last week, however I had a feeling they were going to do some changes like the VIII from the IX in 06....back then I did wait to sell my 03 VIII in for a 06 IX rather than buy a left over 05.......and then they did the mivec, acd, nicer interior etc. rather than the same VIII I had.
Im Very Excite!!! anyone else?

The OP is correct. On top of the base GSR (which will include the larger SSS wing standard) there will be the SS package (HID lights, FASTkey, Rockford Fosgate stereo) and then available on top of the SS will be the SL package (leather, sunroof, extra sound deadening, redesigned center console). Performance-wise it will be identical to the 2008-10 so there isn't too much to get excited about unless you really want the extra creature comforts. I think the biggest addition is going to be the FUSE system.

would use the 4G63 and lighter weight RS version of the evo X.
