I was actually really bummed out when I heard Mitsu would stop making a gasoline powered engine. I really hope I don't stay alive long enough to see hybrid cars everywhere on the road, I would hate driving an electric car. I feel bad for the people in the future who will miss out. I'll probably go buy a 2014 Evo X in the future or else I'll have to switch teams and become a Subi owner :/

The nice thing about electric motors is that the torque curve is linear. They are wicked fast off the line. When coupled with a gas motor, the evo xi would have so much potential and would be super fast in my opinion.

I am an engineer and in the market for a tesla S and the ones i've driven thus far have an insane burst of energy up front.

That is a well known fact. It is just that people here do not know how to mod one with motor.

If they can pull off a hybrid to rival the R35, kudos to Mitsubishi. The only thing is it would all but eliminate aftermarket modifications because it's a hybrid. Still, it sounds like a great car out of the box.

I wouldn't want to buy the first year prototype. .. imagine the bugs that will need to be worked out.

Yeah, but so does everybody have to deal with that.
NSX is entering 4th year of delayment for instance... It will become worst than Diablo III(if you know what I mean-refference to video game)

I really hope that Mitsubishi didn't make Evo X Ralliart trim for nothing more than 1 gen, as it would be a really good idea to use Ralliart tag on future Lancers for current Lancer Evolution's successors, opinions?

One thing is certain, we don't have a single solid clue as to what Mitsubishi is going to do. It's not like they're out of money and they can't afford it. They're just making more money elsewhere and have left the auto business as a loss. Today if you look, there are Mitsubishi electronic components in almost every vehicle make.

The Evo has always evolved every 2-3 years. But the X has stayed the same since 2008. 6 freakin' years. I bet the next Evo will be a toss of a coin.
