2005's 5k rpm cut (launch)

guys after reading the motor trend article it seems like Mitsu put a RPM cut at 5k RPM's at launch.. anyone know if that is a "soft" or "hard" cut ... with some trickery to the ecu inputs maybe we could get a useful 2-step from it???

This sounds more like a no lift to shift approach.

You can keep your foot planted when you shift. I have this feature in DSMlink.

The engine will hold at 5k rpm once you push the clutch in and keep your foot on the gas.

Well it only pegs the engine at 5k when you are stopped.... when you are driving the limiter is lifted... Who knows if it soft or hard but I was thinking the same thing... if it soft we can build boost before we launch but if it is hard that is just too much stress on the engine to keep it pegged.

why you think they added it? They do read these forums regardless of what anybody says. They do read about some of yall doing 6000 rpm clutch dumps then saying, man my clutch is fried!
