There is a guy on ebay selling a brand new Utec for 700 buy it now.

Here are his terms

Wow thats a STEAL! If you check his feedback he has 100% and has 15 .. I think 15 is a pretty good feed back with 100$ rating .. Plus free shipping!

Scam, Anything is going to Asia is not going back. Did you ask yourself what is the utech doing there? Plus he is new in Ebay 2004 and only 15 feedbacks. Watch out.

Unfortunately its probably a scam.. plus I'd be leary about 15 feedbacks, most scammers do a bunch of small purchases and sales to give themselves good feedback before running several large scams in a short time. Anything that wants wire transfer or western union is probably a scam, also be leary about the "Checkout button" shopping cart stuff where they don't want you to use the "pay now" button but their own cart checkout... They do that to get your personal information and avoid the paypal fees...

 

Ok.. Checked the auction.. I'd still be leary about anything that wants wire transfer.. The guy's majority of sales were for Garmin GPS systems with USA map database in them.. Very suspicious about where all of these may have originated from.

Just think about it. You are considering a ebay UTEC for $700 when you could buy a perfectly new one from a certified vendor for a little over $200 more. If something goes wrong with the ebay sale, you are out $700 just to save $200. My advise, buy from a vendor you trust and know.

I do a lot of business on EBAY and I wouldnt buy this unit from this seller. It doesnt have alot to do with his feedback it has mostly to do with his payment methods. Ebay does not want you to buy from people that use Wire transfers and especially not Western Union. The issue here is trackability and no protection from fraud. Once they have the money it is gone. I would only purchase things from people that let me use Paypal or other credit card accepting merchants. This protects you from fraud by allowing you to cancel a purchase within 30days preventing the seller from getting your money. Anyone requireing bank transfers or Western Union just wants your money.
As Jack stated above I also dont like the feedback from his other "Purchasers". I have never seen a seller work so hard to show high money purchases before by replying to all his feedback. It really smells of a setup!

agree with them all i was considering buying that exact one untill i checked feedback and saw wire transfer.... and the best i have ever seen on ebay for a utec was like 780 shipped from a good source.... and i looked for a WHILE keep ur eyes open on here i know i did and thier were a bunch poping up for about 800

 

Yeah, I just sold mine on here a month ago for 800 shipped. I think youd be better off to send a little more and get it somewhere else with a little more comfort.


I just really dont like how it says "NO PAYPAL OR ESCROW" all bold and red like that.
