Rich spot between 4-5k

Anyone else have this rich problem occuring in between 4-5k?

Don't worry about the lean spots, those are gear changes.
There are a few tests i will perform on the car to see if the JDM MR DV is leaking or not, but i wanted to know if anyone else had this problem.

Why don't you take away some fuel there? That's what the Utec is for.
It seems like your afr curve is all over the place. I'd smooth it out.

He just put in 680cc injectors and i was just tuning it out manually rather than set the utec to adjust globally. I did take out fuel, up to -30 when everything else is small. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. I'm going to boost leak test the car because the bov may be leaking air back into the intake causing the car to misfire and run rich. The maf readings on the first log spike up very quickly. I don't think it was a boost spike because the peak on the boost controller said 20.3 pounds.

what are you talking about, "manually" and "globally"?
You shoulod be tuning for each load site and rpm.
-30 seems like alot. The most I have is a 10% change. I see you have as much as +20% and -14%.

The highest I run is +13 but I still ahve the stock injectors in.

manually is going into the maps and changing the values by hand. Globally is going into the utec injector scaling options. I only put +20 in the 10 and 20 load columns because i thought the car was going lean getting back into gear. But i guess the wideband is slow or isn't one to one with the datalog.

swapped out back to the stock bov and the hz are now smooth. No more misfires or rich spots. There are some discrepancies with the hz here and there, and some strange knock. I suspect the cam gears. I'll post up some logs later when i take them off the laptop.

that's a log from a 2-4 gear run. Notice the odd knock in 4th gear. Maf hz seem to be fine from switching back to the stock bov. Timing is super low due to the knock.

Here's a good 3rd gear pull. Slight knock at 65, this baby needs to get on a dyno. It's a very odd car. It wouldn't knock in 2nd or 3rd, but it would go nuts in 4th gear. Very odd indeed.

The car is knocking is higher gears for a few reasons.

1) If your AFR is that rich and you are still knocking, you are running to much ignition advance.

2) In the higher gears you are putting more load on the car, which is usually why we tuned in 4th gear. It allows the wideband to have more resolution because you are going through the gears alot slower. Road tuning is great to get close but Dyno's offer the ability to max out 4th gear and place usually the proper amount of load on a vehicle, without going to jail .

Also what kind of gas an how much boost are you running?

i doubt that timing is high. 93 shell and 19 psi tapering down to 18. I suspect the shop that installed the cam gears has tampered with the exhaust timing cam sensor.

I have to agree on Jeramine on this one. Dont take chances on knock. If you can get it to show up consistently (twice in a row) I would retard the timing just a tad to see if it goes away.
