Misfire

i am haveing a problem with a misfire in my utec map. i bought the car used and had this map, i dont know who tuned it. can ne 1 tell me were the misfire would be in the ignition map? once this question is answered i have about a thousand more question ne help would be great guys

Post up a log first. Also check your plugs this could be the cause of it. I use the NGK BPR7ES.

dryadd001 the car misfires on the utec map but when put on the stock (0) map it is mine but runs like garbage above 5000 rpms to red none of the plugs have ark

Here is what a log should look like, now it all dependis on what program you are using, i.e. UCC, hyperterminal, MPS. This is a log using the MPS software.

i cant even post a log right now b/c i dont have a labtop and i did not get the serial cable or 9v cable to bring it to my comp

Yup you need a laptop to log, makes life a lot easier. I would keep it on Map 0 till you can either buy or borrow a laptop. In order to use the UTEC out of the car it must have power to it, hence the 9v source.

thats the problem the stock ecu runs fine but it does some wierd things above 5000 rpms and its is even worse in 2nd and 3rd th car feels like it is bogging down on and off quickly.

fuel rail is the culprit... you will need to get your car tuned for it. Map '0' will be simply running the stock ECU without any changes form the UTEC. I don't think your car will stock ECU along with the aftermarket fuel rail.
