Launch control/2 step rev limit
Launch control/2 step rev limit
Lots of folks have asked about having the ECU+ do launch control. Welp, axe and you shall receive. I spent some time on this tonight, and it looks like it works. See the screenshot, which shows the launch RPM set at a lame 4000 RPM, and a pretty easy launch on my part (because, um, I'm a wimp...). Note how the RPMs stick at 4000 RPM until the car starts to move, then shoot up in 1st.
So... launch control should definitely be in the next silver box ECU+ software release. I have a good deal more "stuff" I want to get into the next release, so I don't have a good date yet as to when it'll be available, though I may start letting people beta test some of the new code soon.
And before anyone asks, yeah, NLTS is coming, too.

NLTS?
Any timeline on boost control?
Don't take my questions as unthankful, I'm truely amazed thus far. I'm waiting on boost control before I start running alky, I'm hoping that you'll be able to pull boost the same way you can pull timing/add fuel. Is that going to be an option once boost control is implemented?

That's awesome Tom, I can't believe how fast you got that in there. The next software release is going to have a lot of additional features.
NLTS - No Lift Through Shift?
Ben I gave Tom a few ideas on alky boost control. It wouldn't be "pulling" boost if the alky failed, just returning boost to normal levels. The alky map would be an additional offset from the fuel/timing/boost maps. Not sure if he will go that route, but it seems logical to me. I even made up screen shots that he got a kick out of.
Hopefully this weekend you can get the 3.5" straight. I really hope it's not something funky with my car.
This is truely going to be a exciting year for the ECU+.

Fantastic! I am very very excited about this product. It looks to have most of the things I desire in aftermarket ECU management. Are you modeling this after the features that DSMLink has?
Also, this may have been covered, but will ECU+ be available for the Evo9 anytime soon? I may be upgrading.

We're still awaiting availability of the EVO9 wiring harness. That, and a EVO9 for development that's local to DC/MD/VA.

1. Launch control and NLTS.
2. Shift/knock light.
3. Electronic boost control.
4. Some kind of alchohol/nitrous map switching scheme.
So those are some of the more popular ones that seem to always crop up. I don't really have a priority list - it's kinda what looks like fun and what people want. Also, I've given up on estimating dates for things, because I pretty much such at estimating things. Also, I always encourage people to buy the ECU+ based on what it does now rather than what it might do in the future, since I could get hit by a bus, and there's always the possiblity that a future ECU+ would need a hardware change to support some feature, so if you buy it as soon as you think it has the features you need, you won't be disappointed.

Those are the 4 on top of my list also. I put 1-4 in order of 3,1,4,2. But I can handle 1,3,4,2.
But don't forget number 5
5. injector/coil daughter board.
Though when I talked to Tom, he said it would be a pretty good rewrite for that. So let Tom finish 1-4, before asking for 5.

(Tom, sorry if I opened up a can)

We need to keep Tom away from buses though.
