EGR foolery

Okay, this topic has been beat to death, but never satisfactorally (is that a word?) been answered for me. Well the time has come that it has become important to me b/c my intake manifold is out and it's time to get rid of the EGR.

Please no lectures/questions about taking it out, I want it gone, I'll tune around it. This is not a daily driver. I want to know how to make the ecu think that the EGR is functioning properly.

This would stem from someone knowing how the ecu even knows that the EGR is working in the first place. There is no sensor on it, only 2 vaccuum hoses. My only guess would be through the first oxygen sensor it would determine...somehow... that it was/was not working. For any of you accomplished tuning masters, is there any way to get rid of this darn thing w/o going into limpmode for all eternity?

I have ECU+, but Tom (the creator) seems to think that there is nearly no hope of the ECU+ being able to do it.

EDIT: I will be frequently checking/bumping this topic, so please do help me.

I need ideas. Thank you.

Awesome, zero hits. Anyone know how the stock ecu notes that the EGR is not working properly?
