Need a EMS - how easy is the PFC compared to AEM

Hi all, I am just getting into the EMS side of the house. I've done just about every power mod I want, so now I want to be able to tune. I will do one more mail in flash (Dynoflash) and then I'm off and running with a EMS.. I have done my research of this forum, but haven't seen the answers I needed.. Sorry for the long intro.

ahem, Is there a site or course I can get online to learn the parameters of the PFC before I purchase.. I want true plug/play with simple instructions. I saw the AEM's and it seems a bit much for me right now.. Plus the price is painful.. If anyone has any insight, then please LMK.. thanks..

Many hardcore tuners like the AEM as it has control of everything but on the flip side it has be to programmed with all the mundane things such as A\C idle correction and cold start up ect. The Power FC take care of most of these thing with very little initial set required. Still capable of all the normal tuning things like timing, ignition, fuel, ect. I run the PFC with no problem and it has worked great for me so far.

I've heard knock control is an issue for the Power FC.. is this true? and if so what additional parts do we need?? thanks.

If you get the Datalogit with the FC you control knock somewhat. Most knock you see on the FC is ghost knock. The stock knock sensor on the Evo 8 is very sensitive. I show knock sometimes at idle. The FC is very capable tuning tool, it's plug and play, but get the D Jetro. I wouldn't recommond trying to tune on your own unless you know how. I'm making 433hp to the wheels with FC.

overlay realtime knocking values over the 20x20 map
its like map tracer but instead of just highlighted what cell it is using it puts in that cell that max/min/avg knocking values (or whatever sensor u want to monitor) so you can easily spot which cells are knocking more than others

Thanks all for your input. I see what you mean with the overlaying of values.. That looks like a great way to monitor.. Anyone have anything to add as far as pro's/con's versus the AEM and PFC?? I have just about made up my mind, but wanted to get just a little more input if possible..
