careful w/ launch control!

haven't entirely investigated it yet, and I don't have EGT, so I can't be sure, but my pretty new (7 mo. old) WB's (LC-1) sensor (Bosch) is going bad and giving me the trouble code indicating that I've overheated it. Reason being: launch control. It didn't do it to me before, but last week I was giving my clutch a good-bye ceremony and gave it launch after launch. Now every now and then (even if I'm not launching) I get the error from my LC-1. I can only imagine it came from too much fuel igniting near the sensor. The manual says it will become damaged and give that reading if the temp exceeds 900 degrees. (I know nothing about EGTs, so I dont even know how bad that is) Just thought I'd put it out there.

how far from the turbo is the sensor installed? most recommend at least 18" to overcome the heat issue. AEM qoutes as much as 36" if you have a turbo. Most of the guys seem to do it at about 24"

sorry, meant to say. It's just above the bend on the downpipe pointing directly towards the drivers side of the vehicle. Never had problems before now.
