Where to place Lc-1 unit

Where have you guys places yours? I do not want it inside the car as this will make changing sensors a pita. so I rather hace it somwhere in the engine bay or under the car.

I have already used the hole in the firewall on the upper passengers side for wires for other stuff, and is there another gromet I can use in the fire wall?

I placed mine underneath the center console tied to the shifter base then i ran the wires under the console to the dash. I placed mine there cause it close to the hole on the passerger side floorboard, where i ran my lc-1 02 sensor wire through to my gutted cat. I transfered the oem 02 to the second o2 bung on my catback pipe.
This worked for me since the hole on the passenger side floorboard is pretty close to the oem 02 sensor location, and my catback pipe has an 02 bung on it. If you are going to place the wb sensor on the oem 02 sensor original location or close to that area and have a second bung to transfer the oem 02 sensor to, then this set up will work. Replacing the sensor won't be so bad, remove console, unplug sensor from lc-1, pull wire from under the carpet, remove sensor.

I have mine mounted along the passenger side of the strut bar underneath, its amazing how well it blends in and looks like it belongs....then ran the sensor down behind the intake manifold to dp where I have the bung

Then ran necessary wires into the car through that grommet and done

what strut bar underheath? under the car? what grommet did you use?
if I am in front of the car looking at the engine bay, your LC-1 is under the sturtbar on the left (passenger side) ? do you have a pic?

No the control unit is mounted underneath the strut bar in the engine bay.... The hole on the passenger side that comes in behind the glovebox, there is that grommet there.

I don't have a pic...could probably get you one.

I have mine under the passenger side carpet, not where people's feet go but under the air blower area.
no need to take apart console like that.

I actually placed mine under the car by the center shaft.. easier to change sensors and calibrate that way... BTW where you guys get the 12V from? I currently tapped the ECU to get 12V but when I turn off the ignition i can see there is still power going to the LC-1 (because the LED ramins on for a few secconds) Im wondering if this would cause a problem at all w calibrations

I think that is normal. My LC-1 does the same.

does anyone else's LC-1 stays on for a few seconds?
I actully dont mind it, because if there is a voltage drop (spike i guess) then there will always be power .. sort of like a computer UPS
