I friend of mine came over tonight with and evo 8 that has an apexi neo installed on it. He wanted to know if I could enable his two step and lower his rev limiter. Normally this would not be an issue, however when I tried to read the cars map (not the apexi) I could not manage to download it. I tried boosting the battery and even running the unlocker from MJ with not luck at all. I even downloaded a newer version of ecuflash without any luck. I know my cable is good because I can still read the map on my car without a problem. I was able to log his car and noticed 8 counts of knock around 6000 rpm. I would like to help him work this out but without reading the ecu or at least getting the immoblizer code I can't do anything for him. Any suggestions? Before someone asks, Ive been all over openecu and aktivmatrix.

I can't flash it, I can't even read it. I don't have his immobilizer code or I would just retune it for him. I don't want to even try to mess with it unless I know I can at least put his stock rom back on it.

 

if the car is under warranty you can have he dealer reset it for you... I had the same issue once... not responding at all....

 

Its an 8 and far out of warranty

 

Could the Neo be causing the headache?
