Defi EGT probe slow[er]

I have Defi guages and the Defi EGT probe which is notoriously slow, is now really slow; This is after about 20k miles of use.

What is the best probe to replace the original probe with and what are the correct part numbers needed?

Thanks in advance

I have heard Zeitronix is compatible and superior to Defi's probe - any feedback on that?

Almost all EGT gauges use K type thermocouple. The difference is in the probe construction, mass etc. Some are better some then others. This is why we give you Zt-2 style 2 pin EGT connector so you can retrofit your own EGT probe. You do not have to buy one from us. Wonder if it works the other way arround?

Zeitronix-
Can you PM a list and prices of the necessary components? I'm inclined to give it a try.

Z - when you say retrofit, can you be more specific? I now have the EGT probe and neither connector will fit. Am I supposed to splice the wires?

Most EGT gauges use K type thermocouple probe. All probes have different connectors so you need to splice wires if you are using X manufacture probe with Y manufacture gauge. Of course Zeitronix probes plug right into Zt-2s. We also give you a 2 pin EGT connector to retrofit your probe when connecting to the Zt-2.
Keep in mind EGT probes are polarized.
