Is it when you shift or just when you are boosting to 4000 and then it dies and hits hard? Do you have a boost gauge? What is the reading as you are climbing to 4000?

Does your car have a boost controller on it, or has it been reflashed and maybe boost was changed? You may be hitting boost cut, or a coupler is loose and maybe when u hit peek boost its opens up and you loose some psi. Maybe sparkplugs.

So what you are saying is the clutch is slipping in the transmission to cause this intermediate power loss? Seems like if the clutch was slipping, the rpms would go all the way to redline if not paying attention. i.e. motor pushing too hard and the pressure plate cant hold the clutch to the flywheel.

Just my 2 cents,
