Choosing tuning software

Hey guys i bought my evo ix MR back in october/november and i have been slowly modifying it ever since, (even though i said i wouldn't). When i bought the car it had an open air filter, forge mbc and what looks like a buschur 3" TBE. I have since added a few things to add some appeal to the engine bay and some perfomance to the engine. I used the injen intake and intercooler piping, megan racing 02 housing, and a walbro 255 fp. I am now looking for software and a cable to do some tuning with so i can run a little more boost over stock and make a little more power from the added mods, and also from what i have read get a little bit better fuel economy doing so.

My questions are what is a good cable and software to go with to be able to tune and log with, which is also very user friendly? Also where is a good place to order this from? Not that it should matter but i am in Ontario, but i guess the closer to me the better. (shipping wise) I am also trying to stay away from putting any aftermarket gauges in the car but i would like to use a wideband 02 hooked up to the ecu/laptop, where would i find this for the evo aswell, I am hoping to be able to find all these things in one spot if at all possible.

I guess it should be known that i have a little tuning experience, as i use a complete standalone megasquirt engine management system on my 98 neon, I have used/ tuned my friends 2005 srt-4 using aem ems, used and helped a friend with his 91 eagle talon using aem ems, and i have used nistune on a friends pulsar gti-r.

I was also wondering if anyone knows if there is a wideband 02 that has a small digital display that could be placed in an inconspicuous spot such as the glasses holder, coil/ash tray that can easily be hidden when not needed?

Thanks
Jordan

i have a custom gauge plate in my glove box... i couldnt stand hearing all the bs sliding in there and never used it... thats a nice out of the way spot thats only used when needed...

the cable tactrix 50-200. software ecuflash free/evoscan 25, i order everyting from modern auto performance... they are awesome with customer service... and have the cheapest prices on all the goodies i've bought... the wideband i use is the LC-1

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ial-cable.html

i am in the middle of tuning at the moment.. and my fuel economy is decent now.. not good by any means... so dont expect much there... and yes thats what i'm tuning for... fuel econ at 18psi alt map at wow... other then that... search. thats how i learned.. congrats on joining the family... i own a ix gg mr myself...

ps. the lc-1 can be wired into any gauge for the most part... so goggle search one that tickles your fancy and order that.

You will only need a 1.3U for EVO 8/9s.

Thanks, i checked out maperformance.com and couldn't find the cable or evoscan. i did find it at tunertools.com and i think i am going to order it from them tomorrow. just wondering if anyone has ever ordered anything from them before and could give any feedback.

Also i see that the lc-1 wb is able to be tied into the ecu and read using evoscan, i was wondering if the same can be done with using a aem eugo wideband since it also has the 0-5volt output wire? what if any is the benefit with going with the innovate wb over the aem other than the gauge with the aem wideband?

Thanks for the help

I like the gauge for the innovative...but thats about it...i hate there interface..the bulkyness of the harness..the super slow warm up..they freek out and overheat..and go into weird"O"Rama mode alot..and the calibration thing is a pure joke....
I would go AEM or Zeitronics...and Zeitronics will monitor boost air fuel fuel pressure oil pressure EGT or whatever all on one LCD...

Thats just my Opinion
