Going back to stock Ecu... Questions.
Going back to stock Ecu... Questions.
Hey everyone. Fairly new to Evo's and have a possible issue here. My car came with a full Autronic Pnp ecu setup w/ an Autronic 500R CDI box.
I'm looking to go to a stock Ecu/Maf. I've already purchased the stock parts (Ecu, coils, maf) and am all set to swap back.... But, I've read and heard conflicting stories about the immobilizer setup. Some say I need the matching imm. and Key from whatever car I purchased the Ecu from. Some say I should be able to swap the parts and fire the car right up. Any truth to this? I can't stand the way the car currently runs, and finding someone who knows this system is like finding a needle in a haystack. But the car is my DD, and the Autronic is wire intensive w/ the COP setup. So ideally I would like to swap the parts and go. Any help is greatly appreciated

the ecu gets a signal from the key....check it against the immob value.....if they don't match the car won't start. If you putting in someone elses ecu you will need to change the immob value to what your key is (no idea how you would find that out). You could however just disable the immob feature in the ecu and then any key that could turn the ignition will start the car. That would be the way I would go personally. IF you want to disable it just change the immo value to 0x0000.

Excellent. I appreciate the info. I have no stock Ecu as the car came with a full Autronic standalone, so I will most likely just disable the immo.
