Pull a degree of ignition advance at from 2750 to about 4000rpm in all load sites from 10% up.

I'd like you to then add a little bit of fuel in the section I quoted above. Add .3 or so in the fuel map in those 10-40% load sites and let me see the changes. Actually looking at the map, the whole thing could use a little bit of fuel up to about 6k. Try small changes such as .5 at a time until that section is running a consistent 11.5:1. Then try leaning out the top end a little to around 11.2:1.

It makes this SO much easier since you have the tuner.

Thanks,
-Nathan

o.k. when you are telling me the whole thing could use a little fuel to 6K, do you want me to ad .5 to all load sites up to 6K or what. If ime not sure what you mean, ill wait till i understand. I cant afford to screw somthing up. RRR

The 6th column over in the data is a knock count. That log shows a high one as boost is coming on. Now note that I don't know if it's really knock (you'll have to listen to the knock headset from the tuner to be sure) but you should run a little less timing in this area anyway just to be safe until you can listen to your motor and tune your knock thresholds.

Now for your second question

The 5th column in the data log is the MLP or map load point. This gives you a way to track where in the map your car actually is running. Look at the log below

Those RPMs need some fuel added back into the map. I'd recommend that you add .5 to all the load sites from 3500 to 6000 from 40% to 100%. This can be accomplished with the block select and block add commands (shift+a,s,d,w for block select, and Ctrl-U for block add).

Once you get that section of the map right at or below 11.5:1 you can start leaning out the higher RPM load sites a little bit at a time.

o.k. here is the next run. It looks like i went leaner. I added .3 lile you said to the fuel and took out the timing. This is not with the add .5 fuel throught the map. Now if it says -1 and i sub.3 then its -.7 right. This is alot to learn.......

I think they meant to add to the negative value.. so it should be less negative.. Otherwise you'll end up leaner.. and your definitely leaner.. hehe..

Oops.. Brain fart.. Yes, if the value is -1 then it should be -.7

The more positive the number, the richer the car runs.. I just realized your running a buschur exhaust and aftermarket filter, the same combo as mine.. the areas where your lean are due to the MAF sensor misreading.. you may actually need to dip into positive numbers in that region.. on my S-AFC (Now sitting in a box.. ) you'd typically bump the fuel +1 or +2 in the area where you hit peak boost.. you may actually see the need to hit +1 before you get a safe AFR

Fortunately the default maps they gave us have pretty conservative timing.. you might want to get the EGT sensor if you plan on playing with the timing.. Even without detonation or an overly lean mixture, aggressive timing could cause very high EGT's

If you haven't already done this, get one step cooler plugs.. If you haven't noticed with the Buschur exhaust, even without boost control modifications it is about 20 or 21psi... Thats part of the reason the STG1 Utec map is a little lean in that RPM range and why your getting a little detonation.

The advantage of the UTEC is the load points.. When I found there are lean spots with the s-afc, its typically when I'm not quite at WOT and get full boost, it results in a somewhat lean condition.. this is something we can now tune around with the UTEC..

by pulling the timing like i was told, seemed to clear up the knock count. But i went from -1 to -.7 and it shows leaner. Ill call them tommarrow and make sure before i do another run.....
