Newbie friendly??

hey guys, I've been reading up on the UTEC lately and have only heard good things about it. I know this question has been addressed, but I gotta ask it again. I am completely new to engine management, and tuning in general. Will I be able to properly tune this unit by myself? How about the install, is that easy to do as well?

again, sorry if this has been asked several times, but just need to be sure before I make such an investment.

thanks!

Hey,

the install is very easy to do and shouldn't take you more than 15 mins. as far as tuning goes, the UTEC is fairly simple and easy to understand but you must keep in mind that you are still playing with your engine vitals so you can still blow up your engine. what i would do is get together with a person who tuned before or even go to a shop and ask them to give you the basics of tuning. once you know the basics and the do's and don'ts of tuning, you will be able to tune the utec with ease and you will do it in a safe way. also, just for your piece of mind, give turboxs a call and talk to Nathan to he can give you some pointers on the UTEC.

thanks

Snir

great, thats what I like to hear. I see nathan on this forum a lot giving suggestions and helping us out, keep it up man, customer service never gets over looked.

I'm almost determined to find a negative comment about this unit.... hahhaa, there has to be something, right? maybe not

I was also wondering this same exact thing. Currently I am pretty knowledgable with s-afc and hks afr and my car is has been dynoflashed twice. Not that I am unhappy by anymeans with the dynoflash, I just feel that with my upgrade path becoming more substantial than I had planned I would like to be able to tune everytime I upgrade something without having to go to the dyno. I was planning on the Utec with a wideband but I am not sure what is compatable with the UTEC. Does anyone know of anyone in the CT area that is familiar with the UTEC????

thanks for help folks
