Check Engine Light
Well, yes, without a Catalytic converter you will still show a CEL code and light.. With the right aftermarket "Test pipe" or "O2 eliminator" you can eliminate that, but for the time being, the UTEC doesn't offer a way to prevent it.
HOWEVER, the UTEC Does have a feature that you can turn off your CEL light so its not visible all the time. The disadvantage is if you have another problem that triggers that light, you won't see that either.

even if the utec turns off the cel light, and the light is off. or i use an elimniator then would the car run on limp mode? causing excessive fuel, to compensate with it? But to correct that part is to lean it out with the utec correct?
In short word. The engine would run limp mode, but can be corrected?

no, the upper sensor in the o2 housing is the one controlling mixtures, the rear one that checks for catalytic converter effeciency. you can use a spark plug anti fouling extension, the hole in the extension will be too small for the sensor housing to go through so youll need to drill it, then you screw the o2 sensor into the extension---the screw the whole thing into the bung on the pipe, mines been on for two weeks now, im running catless and no light it works great for 3.99 for two extensions, there in the little red help packages at the local parts shop , i think its 18 mm
