Logging with UTEC

Hi, I am new to the UTEC. I physically dont have one yet but I will be purchasing one next week along with the tuner pro. Currently I am dynoflashed and if I hook up the UTEC, can I just log with it to get a baseline to see what my car is running without changing the tune of the car with the flash. I would like to see were my car is at before changing any parameters of the tuning. If you hook up with UTEC can you not have it change the tuning parameters of the ecu....kinda like if i was to hook up an afc and set all the settings to 0. Any adivce would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Ed

Yes (if you search this forum you would've have easily found your answer).

Map 0 on the UTEC allows the UTEC to observe the stock ecu and will not change any tuning parameters.

haha....thanks malibu

i am sure i will be fluent in utec knowledge sooner or later. i am just now getting educated in this because i have just been using dynoflash as my method of tuning...but now it seems that my modifcations are going a few at a time and it would be $$ worth to just get the tuner pro and utec...sorry for another newb question, but for the utec, where is the best place to locate the Wideband

thanks

I would at least invest in the Tuner wideband.. but it really depends.. If your ok with correlating data on two different graphs, you should have very little trouble using a third party WBO2, its just not integrated which makes things alot more convenient.

Yeah I use a seperate wideband and tune off of that. I log my AFR, RPM, and TPS on my palm pilot and then match up the RPM and use that AFR to adjust fuel. I do like the way the tuner integrates with the UTEC but I already had a wideband before I got the UTEC and really didnt want to spend all that money for the tuner. So far it has been working very well for me.
