CAM GEARS & 264'S

I keep reading differing opinions on this subject. Will cam gears ADD any power to 264/264 cams? Or will they just move the power range around?

Please note, I'm not interested in what cam gears will do for 272 or 280 set ups.

if I am not mistaking they shift power band..changes mechanical timing
