Are all Stock Ecu's interchangable?

Basically I want to know if there is any problems swtiching different year ecu's. Maybe fuel maps might be different, anything else?

yes, your imobilizer number is different so you'll probably have a hard time getting it to start. You have to be a little more specific in your post. What year are we talking about? Evo 8 or 9? ACD or non???

Just wondering if 05+ work in a 03-04 Evo. Don't I just flash it to get it work.

It should work,provided you pull your immob. from the original ecu. I've done it before.

I know this thread is a little old but I was wondering if there is any way of getting the immob from the car if u don't have the stock ecu anymore? I bought my car with aem in it and I'd like to buy a stock ecu just for daily driving purposes..

is it an 05 mivec that may cause a problem

Sounds stupid - to replace your AEM EMS whit a stock ECU. :updown: Why ? If your car have some mods how to take care of them when you "just driving daily".
Know that there can be good reson to do what you ask for, but I cant see them.
But the solution must be to get the Imobiliser and the ECU parred from :mitsu: Mitsubishi when you buy the new one. {thumbup}

Def for DD if just to be able to pass emissions. AEM wont pass the OBDII checks IIRC.

Pretty sure dealer can reprogram your immobilizer on a new ECU, but they wont give you the code to program 1 yourself.
