Boost level's and high octane

iv got a stupid question that i dont ever remember reading about befor. well i know when running high octane fuel that its a no brainer to run high boost ect ect..so im wandering would there be any gains to be had if you run high octane but do not run high boost but tune for it in all other forms if could be. yes i know why run high octan and not run high boost but its just a question i was thinking about and wondered if anybody had a answer to it well thanks in advanced for any input

If you run how Octane fuel on low boost, you could get more aggressive with timing and run a much leaner afr.

If you are going to waste money in runing higher Octane fuel you might as well see some real gains with turning up the boost.

^^^ well with high octane and regular boost will there be any gains i know you should just raise your boost but whats wrong with wanting to run regular boost

You will make power with lower boost and more timing/leaner AFR, but not as much as with more boost. If you were tuning for a track car or so longevity, then lower boost might be a good choice, but there is always a balance.

You can run regular boost (I assume 20-22psi) with higher Octane but whats the point if you can do pretty good on pump gas. I personally am running 26psi on 93oct. Everyones perception of normal boost will be diffrent. In my humble opinion I just dont see the point of high octane or regular or low boost. But again to answer your question, If you decide to run high Octane for a boost level of say 18-22psi then yes you can see more power because you can add a lot of timing and run a much leaner afr.

Good luck

thanks for your input thats what i was thinking about the timming and changing the the air/fuel mix but i wasent positive if there would be a real increase in power and also my ''regular'' boost at the moment it 26psi so it would preobly net a lil more power that way
