Stock ECU Won't Start but AEM does it!
 

I have a 03 EVO 8, and i just basically put it back to stock, old owner had an AEM EMS, I have a friend who has a 2005 RS. We decided to swap setups, everything went up to par, the only thing left was to swap ecus.

When i plugged in the stock ecu i get no spark and no fuel. Then switching back to the AEM EMS It starts and it runs roughly but fine.

Some people threw up suggestions but i don't know what to do..... But some of my friends say that it's the immobilizer? I was wondering if anyone knows what this might be? I cannot locate the stock ecu that was with the car originally. Thanks everyone for your help.

It's almost certainly the immobilizer. See here (and if tuning the stock ECU isn't your thing, point your tuner at that page):

Disable immob via patches available, u should b ok

we unlocked the ecu, everything worked great! Thanks guys for the help.
