Using Audi Red top coils, no ignition on cranking
 

I was trying to use audi red top coils on my lancer by using the cop diy guide like everyone else usually does but i ran into the problem of not getting ignition on cranking. The only solution i have right now is to run 2 cylinders with the audi red tops and the other two using the stock lancer coil. I have tried everything from changing the dwell settings to changing the grounding for each coil between engine and ecu and nothing gives spark when im cranking, only when the engine is running. Im thinking that maybe i might not have enough amperage to power the coils while cranking because i have my battery relocated to the trunk. For reference to the wiring the audi pinout is power, ground, signal, signal ground. else maybe im not getting enough voltage to trigger the coil as well.

Seems you have wrong pinout...
1: 12v
2: signal gnd
3: signal
4: Power gnd.
Use about 2-2.5 ms dwell@14v.

Yeah ive tried both grounds returning to the ecu ground and alternating one and the other being grounded to the valve cover, none of them worked for cranking. It only started once when i had the 9 volt dwell at 10ms but never again. Im thinking the signal doesnt give enough amperage to trip the coil as i found online. Ill try switching to the toyota denso coils to see if they work better.
