Turbo Question
Turbo Question
Alright I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but I've been looking and I just want a few answers...
I am going to buy the starter turbo kit from RRM ...and i need to figure out what else I am going to need, I just wanna do a non itnercooled setup just to get the turbo on and running correctly then upgrade from there..
1) What kid of fuel pump do I need to get?
2) What should I do about Injectors?
3) Custom piping? Mandrel bent? or does it matter?
If this is already listed somewhere let me know...
Thanks!!!!
Impatiently waiting to boost...

hopefully i get my fuel pump today.. 2g dsm walbro 255lp pump.. been waiting 20 days for my pump
you gonna need some gauges, at least a boost gauge and a manual boost controller you can make one for like 5 dollars.. you gonna need lots of vaccume lines and t's and a bunch of other stiff.. mtp tap to drill into oil line... and a bunch more im forgetting now..

best bet would be to get the kit and take it to a shop and have them finish it. would be cheaper/safer that way at least. you will need alot of things, and yes you need mandrel bends for your turbo pipes. not needed of course, but better to spend the extra money and get it now because you will want to upgrade it later on.

I know how to boost a car, thats not the problem, I've done plenty of motor swaps, and boosted a few NA cars, I am just looking for what most people have used. Not to be rude but just because someone asks a question doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about. So instead of criticizing just help me out. Thanks a ton.

Thank you Mobius, no hard feelings....and I understand it seemed like a newbie question, but i know several people who have used crimp bending for their turbo's and worked fine because they were running low boost, 5 psi...or so... Obviosuly you get better air flow with mandrel, but i am on a tight budget right now and i just wanna get my car boosted and running correctly then do upgrades from there...
