Lancer Short Ram Intake
HI Im new at this place and I just got a 5 Speed Lancer ES Thunder Gray Metallic. The only major mod I did to this car was add a TWM short shifter with energy bushings. Works greatt! Anyway I was thinking of adding a short ram intake to it and I have found one on roadracemotorsports.com. Now it says this about it (This kit uses high flow K&N filter and comes with all necessary hardware. The best thing about our intake is the funneled MAS adapter that helps ram air into the airflow sensor. Comes with real Carbon Fiber intake shield! We tested this intake and it dropped 0-60 mph times 3/4 of a second as compared to stock intake) As you can see it does not include the 6061 T-6 aluminum alloy intake tube or lightest alloy metal used. Now with your opinion Ive heard cars whe the the aluminum alloy or any other metal sounds great under the hood but with the rubber it doesn't and that the alloy probably gains more horsepower than the rubber tube. Now is that true? And if it is should I get the short ram provided from RoadRace and get the aluminum alloy tube somehwere else and hook these two things together, would it work also or is it the same s****? Thanks alot guys for your help
I didnt mean that the tube was sold separately but Injen provides that and their own SRI for the lancer at Overboost.com. But what Im basically saying is all the products of a Short ram intake is the same as all of them being sold by different companies or are they different in performance? For instance the SRI by RoadRacemotorsports.com compared to a Injen SRI by Overboost.com. ? Thanks again for the help.

eBay special! Intake gains will be minimal unless you have a lot of other supporting mods, so I wouldn't suggest dropping a lot of money on it. If you decide to though, I'd suggest the RMR short ram. Functional heatshield + use of stock air duct = winner!
