how much do custom turbo's cost?
i' thinking about just going turbo. but i don't wanna pay for some jacked up in price kit. so here what i wanna know?
safe psi without wearing down stock internals, and the cost. |
ill just be the ******* here - do a search its been covered many times :) or atleast talked about. it all depends on whit kind of piping ... turbo size and where and who you get it from as well as quality of everything you buy.
i tell people it can be as cheap as you want it to be, but you're gonna look in the thousands easily to get a propper set up
Think of it this way... would you want to save money and cut corners on a custom-turbo kit which may not be suitable for your car and end up damaging other parts in the process which will end up costing you more money... or would you rather buy a pre-made kit which has been installed on many cars before and is proven to work good and will save you money in the long run? Just food for thought... :D
i know but i wanna boost like 2-3 psi for starters, then build up from that. i want more speed NOW! but if i can't even boost my custom turbo to give me 160 crank hp. then forget it. then as i go on i'll buy internals , and raise the psi a few points.
Waste of effort to go 2-3 psi . . . No stock manufacturers even go that route, unless those microcars in JPN with those 1.0 to 1.3L TC.
what about 5 psi
The Non-intercooled RRM kit will put you at about roughly 5psi... The Intercooled kit can put u at about 7-9 psi
Custom or Kit... prepare to spend at least $2000 (I even consider $2000 to be extremely cheap for a turbokit) |
EXTREMLY CHEAP.. i bought my kit for 2500 im already at around 4000++ with all misc crap
JV,
see stuff adds up in the end. :) |
yea and i need more parts too lol! damn turbo!
what about the sds from RIPP i hear the superchargers are aesy to maintain and such?
yeah i want one, just seeing if there are any cheaper ways of getting power.
well a cheap easy way of getting power can be just spend money on bolt ons - but isnt really "Cheap" after a while or after you use all the bolt ons.
I think if you want serious power right off the bat go with a turbo or supercharger. |
ok i got a question. if i get ripps sds, what bolts on can i use to go with it. can i use throttle bodies, intake mani's, or what not. cause i wanna get some kinda speed b 4 i save up for a year.
