Useful Wiring Diagram Information
With my Remote Start, I rec'd this information specific to the US '02+ Lancer... I make no claims as to it's accuracy, and will update after I finish my install:
Constant 12 volts WHITE IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 12 volts BLACK/WHITE IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Starter BLACK/YELLOW IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Dome Light WHITE (-) WHITE PLUG BOTTOM OF FUSE BOX
Trunk Pin Switch GREEN/ORANGE AT LIGHT IN TRUNK
Parking Lamp GREEN/WHITE (+) WHITE PLUG BOTTOM OF FUSE BOX
Power Lock YELLOW DRIVER KICK PANEL #201
Power Unlock GRAY WHITE PLUG
#201- See Negative Pulse Door Lock Diagram. Information Courtesy Of Installer!! Any Additional Information Appreciated!!
Ignition #2 BLUE/BLACK IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Brake Light GREEN (+) AT SWITCH ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL
Hope this helps...
Still looking for information on the loacation of the Heater (Is this Perhaps Ignition #2) and a Tach Signal.
E-Brake is right on the base of the brake handle, under the console... believe it's green, just don't remember right now...
Happy Installing!

there is a lancer_wire_diag.pdf somewhere on evolutionm but I do not find it anymore? I have it here, it's a 7.5Mb file including all the wiring diagram of the lancer

Tach wire is very important. It is NOT behind the gagues like everyone says, at least not on the 2003.
You can find it in the ECU under the glove box. Remove the glove box and the panels underneath. You may have to remove the passenger sill plate and kick panel....
Remove the three 10mm bolts and drop the ECU. Looking at the ECU the plug on the far left should have a BLACK wire that you can test AC for the tach. I am 99% positive that it is the black wire so check all black if not in either far left or right molex plug.
EDIT: Saftey
To remote start the car you must remove the connection above the clutch. This will allow the car to start without pressing the clutch.
By doing this you MUST install a saftey switch! Imagine what starting a car in gear can do, besides ruining the car ......
Tie the saftey switch into the ground(-) in the emergency brake. I also reccomend installing a saftey switch around the shift collar. Its very easy to DIY. Cut a piece from a wire coathanger and find a decent spring to solder into a circle, just enough to fit around the collar. Fasten the hanger to the plastic shift housing and ground it.

Still working on the remote start install (Cold Weather, Work, Class get in the way)... And I'm getting closer... My doors lock, and the computer reads the tach signal... However:
I cannot locate the "white plug" and the "Gray Wire" to unlock the doors... Any help would be appreciated...
Also, anyone who's tied into the ignition wiring harness, where did you choose to do it?
For the Tach, I used the blue wire on the 3rd Plug into the ECU... There were 4 wires that carried an A/C Signal that changed with the tach... The pictures didn't come out too well, and the ECU is back in already... I'll describe it the best I can, just PM me...
