Advice on Sub and amp install

im in quite a perdiciment, i bought a sub and amp from a RA s&s and i dont know if i should install them or have someone like best buy do it. i got off the phone with best buy and they quoted me 220 for complete install. im not someone who is very good with the whole wiring thing, and personally i would think this to be a hard task.
i need some help, do you guys think it would be easier to install myself of pay to have someone do it.

Thats what I thought too. I payed my friend $50 to install my whole system, and I watched the whole time. So easy thou.

Just wait for someone to give you a good walk-thru, and you can try it. Save your self $200. You might need to get some speaker cable, etc.

Yeah, just ask some friends around and say you'll pay, plus some beer!

Does the 200 include the parts, or is that just labor? Do you have the box already? A 2 channel/mono amp install at best buy is 59.99 just for labor. At least it was a year ago.

go to wal-mart and get yourself a $20 wire installation kit and do it yourself... the red wire goes from the battery to the 12v on the amp the black (ground) wire goes from the amp to the closest grounded bolt, the blue wire goes from the amp to the blue (accessory i think) wire comming out of the cd player and finally the speaker wire goes from the sub to the + and - on the amp... pretty simple imo, done it hundreds of times to many different cars. most importantly disconnect the battery before doing any type of installation. hope this helps...

im going to try and do it myself with someone who has already installed subs and amp in his car before. the one problem i have is that my car is an ES and i was looking in the trunk and i see the wireingharness for the sub, but i dont see any holes where the sub would mount to.

what do you mean mount? like mounting the box to the car? if so than yes you would want to drill your own holes... there are no stock ones for that, that i know of...
