alpine radio harness has 2 blues

I got a metra harness and my alpine harness as well.

for the lancer there is only 1 blue, for the power antenna.

My alpine has 2 blues, 1 solid blue for the power and one blue/white for the remote amp turn on.

So my question is to i connect both blue's to the metra harness? or do i leave the remote amp hanging on its own? i'm only replacing the radio and i'm assuming that thats running of the radio's internal amp.

If there is a spot to put it on the metra wiring harness, then connect it, if not, don't worry and leave it hanging.

you leave the amp one alone, UNLESS you are running an aftermarket amplifier. it has a different load bearing on that lead. if you are using a power antenna, then connect the antenna lead to the other lead from the metra harness.

some aftermarket head units turn the antenna lead off, thus lowering the antenna. that is why their are two leads typically. the antenna has a 0.5a max load and the amp has 2-5amp load usually.

so i should just leave both the power antenna and AMP turn on disconnected and taped up?

the lancer has the roof antenna which isn't powered and i dont plan on having a aftermarket amp anytime soon.

my metra harness has a spot, a blue power antenna wire. but i dont have a power antenna to begin with.

so i got some time to start wiring it up because i'ma install it during the holiday.

i came across 1 more issue, the metra harness has 2 oranges, one solid for the illumation, and the stripped orange for the "dimmer"

alpine harness has 1 orange, what i normally do is hook both up to the apline harness, in some cases i get the dimmer to work and in others its just useless. what would happen in this case if i put both in to the apline orange? would the dimmer be disabled.
