Best Brand of Replacement 6.75" Speakers

I am currently upgrading my stock speakers and i was trying to get some input on which would be the best for my application. I have done a lot of research and the ones i am leaning towrads are pioneer, although i also like the kicker, infinity, and polk speakers. Money is not an option, but wattage is. I can give ~35-40 watts to each speaker. I really cannot go any higher b/c i really do not want to buy another amp, and i already have ~500 RMS going to a Kicker CVR, and my alternator can hardly handle that so i really cannot afford any more watts.

My question what would be the best setup for my wattage? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you looking at Components or Coaxials?

I haven't really found a set of 6.75s I like. Alpine's 6.5 type-r components come with 6.75 adapter plates, that would be a good cheaper choice.

I've heard a few good comments on these Crystal MobileSound speakers: http://www.crystalmobilesound.com/Soundstage.htm . They're 6.5s as well. They are kinda components, kinda coaxial. I was going to try a pair out as soon as money permits.

Personal preference, this question will never have an answer. I've always like kappa's, and am just installing some Diamond Audio's in my car. Components will for sure need an amp to sound as good as they can.

our speakers are 6.75" not 6.5"?

Oversized 6.5"

best direct replacesments would be pioneer 6.75" or kenwood 7" (same size).

I have been searching crutchfield and i am wanting to run Pioneer TS-A1780R up front and Alpine SPS-170A in the rear. But Crutchfield.com is saying that these Pioneers do not fit the 2003 Lancer. I could have sworn that i read on the forum of people using these. Anybody know if these will fit?

Front: Pioneer 4 ways- RMS 2-50 (power w/ headunit 44x2 RMS)
Rear: Alpine 2 ways- RMS 2-40 (power w/ amp 35x2)
Sub: 12" Kicker CVR- RMS 400 (powerw/amp 500x1)

will this work out all right?

Just a few general suggestions:
Headunits don't put out more than 18-22 watts RMS despite the 50w rms they all say.

Anything more than 2-way speakers aren't going to sound much better than the equivalent 2-way(IMO).

Amp the fronts, run the rears off the HU. Why have all the power in the back speakers? You don't sit back there when you drive.

My HU is rated @22 watts x 4. If you run the REAR and FRONT signals together to each side of the front you receive 44 watts x 2. Then run an amp to your rear, using preamps.

^^^Hasn't anyone else heard of these before? This is last model year infact...isn't it an Eclipse?
