Dual receivers????
Got a problem. Maybe someone smart can help me figure this one out. I own a Pioneer DEH-P640 with an XM satelite radio. I like XM radio alot and I want to keep it when I buy my new in-dash DVD player. I'm buying the Kenwood Excelon 714DVD player and want to mount the DVD player into the factory radio area. However, I still wanna keep my XM radio. I'm ALMOST sure that you can run a preamp-out to the Kenwood, and the Kenwood would use it's aux. input to receive the XM radio from the Pioneer unit. If this is confusing, please let me know. But, what I WANT to do, is to put the Pioneer into the "cubby hole" in front of the gear shift. It looks like it could fit in there, but I'm just not sure. I'm asking to see if anyone has any ideas as to how I could mount the receiver in the "cubby hole".
Thanks, Philberg |
cant you get the cubby conver that rrm sells and just mount it in there. THere is another company selling one for the evo too. (cubby same size)

there is a part where u swap out the cubby hole and put in a part with mounting brackets for a cd player..try doing a search and im sure you'll come up with a part number. take that part number to mitsubishi and they can get it for ya. it shouldnt cost too much.
try a search for "cubby hole" |
Is it possible to take the carbon fiber cubby hole plug, cut out a section for the receiver, then just fit it in there?
|
u need to mount the radio somehow..if u do that won't it just slide around?
|
yeah. that's what i'm thinking. plus, i'm not 100% sure the radio will fit. If it does, it'll be a tight squeeze. Plus, it will move around. That carbon fiber face won't hold it in place, it needs something else.

i believe this issue is resolved :)
MZ598263EX is the part number for the relocation kit! |
