Instead of going behind the head unit....becuz i have yet to rip apart my lancer...you can go back in the trunk, and hook the modulator up to the back speaker wires. Thier should be 4 wires comin out of the box 2 striped, 2 not, take the one stripe and one not and hook it up to the positive and negative speaker wire for each set. That way you only have to get a small length of RCA cables. The best way would be to get well I call them splice connectors, they just snap around each speaker wire and then just buy lil plugs for the modulator wires.....Hope it wasnt too confusing, but just use the back speaker wires.

What do I do with the bluie turn on lead when connecting the in line converter to the rear speaker wires?

Also, where the hell do you run the power wire thru the firewall on a 2002 Lancer ES?

If i remember correctly you connect the remote turn on wire to the constant power wire on the back of the radio. I actually ran the power wire through the grommet near the manual pedal and up over the tire well into the engine area. Kind of a pain in the ass since you have to drop the black panel down over the tire to do it.....but you dont have to drill any extra holes and what not
