Need people's opinions on Amps and on what I am dinking of getting.
 

Ok well I am thinking of replacing all factory speakers with the Infinity Kappas 63.5i speakers. Bad or good idea?
My head unit is only 50x4 so I was thinking of getting a amp to power those 4 . what do you think how strong and which kind?
Also I was thinking of getting 1 or 2 of these for the trunk.
Infinity Kappa 120.3dvc subs. Bad idea or not?.... and what power kind of amp should i get them. are boss bad amps or good?... I am going for a clean system but not a wallet breaking system. I have other priorties over this .. hehe.. Any help would be of great assistance.

i just bought the 63.5's they are a biznich to install had to get it done by a shop get them from ebay good deals um they acually arnt as great as they sound maybe with an amp they will be but w/o 1 im not really impressed

im lookin for an amp umm i want somethin w 75-100X4 but not sure if thats good or not im not good w/multi channel amps

I'm saying this from experience.....

I put Boston's all around in my old legend...Powered the rears, and kept the front running of the HU. Then added a sub....It was alright....

My next plan is this, for a SQ setup, not SPL:

- Just put two 10 inch Kappa Perfects running off a JBL600x1 (300watts RMS each..stable at 2 ohm).....God all mighty do they POUND! Wish I woulda just gotten one with the 600x1(300 at 4 ohm)

- Put in Boston 2 way comps up front with like 80-100 watts each.

- Keep the rears in place for fill, running off the HU.

I'm doing all this off the stock HU for now, till I get the cash for a new one, then i'll change the rears to sumpin a bit better (less than $80 for the pair) and keep it running off the HU.

You don't need to power the rears, you are sitting in the front :)
I've actually started to keep my speakers fader toward the front a bit, and I like it alot more.

Try AUDISON amps.{thumbup}

McIntosh amps if you've got some scrilla lying around the hizzouse...and lots of it. Blue lit analog meters...:yum:

I say, whatever you do, you can't really judge it till you're finished. I think upgrading speakers and then powering them is a great idea, but once that's all done you need to get a new hu. I'm holding out for one with a signal/noise of at least 103db or more, so I'm not gonna give a solid review of my stuff till I do that. I think there's better speakers then the 63.5's for the price.
I got Pioneer (i know, I know) ts-17something (in my car registry) and they don't rms the highest but have a very broad spectrum (all the way down to 29hz.) and can handle at least 75w RMS, that is good for me. My next step after I get Dem1k's sub is to get a multichannel amp to run the 4 speakers and sub, I was looking at the kickers with 4way and a seperate d class amp for the sub, they're pricy but exactly what I want, plus tri-way compatible for the crossover.

Very good choice on the sub selection. I personally have 2 kappa perfect 12.1 (not dual voice coil) subs installed and they pound. Infinity marks the RMS to run at 350 but they are actually underselling the subs. I have my power system upped (with caps) to a 14v to 14.1v system and have been getting very very good results with the MTX 8100D. I know MTX yeah commercial you can get at American TV brand but that amp pounds for me. good crossover although I wish it had a subsonic filter. Back to the point the amp is running about 415 to 435 watts (rms) into each sub and the subs have had no problem. I have also head reports of people running as much as 600 watts (rms) with the voice coils surviving fine. Otherwise if you want to spend the money Hifonics makes good low THD amps, or if you want to go balls to the wall (which you will need new subs for) OZAudio makes a very very powerful and very clean sub amp.
