RRM V.2 PiggyBack Installation on an 05 ES Auto
RRM V.2 PiggyBack Installation on an 05 ES Auto
Nevermind, I just sent in my v.2 piggy to RRM to be reflashed, and to get the install instructions.
Could somebody please clarify for me. Is the installation for the V.2 Piggy the same for the 02-03 ES as on the 04-05 ES? Are these the correct instructions for my 05 ES? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=70071
If anybody has the RRM V.2 Auto Instructions could you please email them to me? or the ECU Pin Diagram would be helpful also. Thanks.

Hey, thanks N1te. I called RRM and they say the 02-03 are the same, only difference is the what tranny you have. I would still love to have a copy of the Roadrace instructions along with the pin diagram.
I love this search tool... It kicks asses ! ( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ighlight=piggy )
J/K... Have fun !

Hey, slvroz03 I already have the link to that thread in my original post. I just wanted to confirm that it was the same for all the es, ls, and oz lancers from 02-06 or if they were different for 02-03 and 04-05, and maybe get the pin diagram.
Nevermind though, I already sent my piggy to RRM for the newest flash and they are going to send me the installation instructions. I know it's not brain surgery but I don't want to f--k anything up by having the wrong instructions.

Here are the instructions Noe18
1) Disconnect the battery
2) Access the ECU by lowering the glove box door. The left side tab pulls towards you and then comes into the glove box. After that you just pull the right side inward and the glove box will drop down and can be removed off the hinges.
3) The ECU is located to the left and its wires are covered by a plastic plate underneath where the glove box was.
4) Pull the lower cover plate towards you and it comes off exposing the ECU wires.
5) Pull the connectors out of the ECU by pushing in on the tabs and pulling them out.
6) Using the above diagram connect the wires of the Piggy Back as follows.
7) Connect the Piggy Back’s RED wire to the RED/YELLOW wire on ECU pin 47. (T-into the wire do not sever it)
8) Connect the Piggy Back’s BLACK wire to the BLACK wire on ECU pin 48. (T-into the wire do not sever it)
9) Connect the Piggy Back’s YELLOW/BLACK wire to the GREEN/WHITE wire on ECU pin 43. (T-into the wire do not sever it)
10) Cut the WHITE/RED wire on ECU pin 65. (Leave enough wire on both side so that you can reconnect to both sides)
11) Connect the Piggy Back’s GREEN wire to the side of the cut wire that leads away from the ECU.
12) Connect the Piggy Back’s VIOLET wire to the side of the cut wire that leads to the ECU.
13) Now, collect your wires and place the Piggy Back in a safe location away from any danger. (Zip times / Velcro seems to work well)
14) Reconnect the battery
15) Start the car and don’t be alarmed at a high revving situation as the ECU is now in learn mode.
16) Allow the car to idle for 5-10 minutes.
17) After idle period, drive the car for 15-20 minutes very conservatively taking care not to rev the car high or drive hard but keep a constantly changing RPM level. If the car tries to stall at a stop give it gas to keep it running so the learning process continues uninterrupted.
18) After the learning period the car should be fine and you should be able to stop the car and it will return to idle without a problem.
19) Shut the car off.
20) Restart the car insuring a good clean start as it has always before install.
21)If all is well enjoy your new Piggy Back and go have some fun. If there are any problems contact Road///Race Motorsports at (562)906-0080.
