i have a V1. i have to use either 89 or 93 (what they have around here)
i could get it reflashed, but from what i know the higher octane maps get more power

I'd pull :P . But anyway, with all of my mods in my signature I can officially say I have a decently fast NA 4 banger. Civics are easy to beat at this point. Mustang GT's are suprised when I hold with them up to 40 or so, and eclipse's/integras/preludes (non turbo's) provide me a good race if they are decently modified. The parts individually didn't feel like they did much but in the end my car is fun to drive.
The piggy helps get the most out of all the mods. Thats what its there for. I would invest in a header if getting FI is gunna be a while. Some of RRM's headers even go with their turbos. You can just sell the mods here when you go FI.
You said it very well.

I have to disagree - I do think the piggy is worth the price. 1) see any other reliable piggy backs out there for an es? 2) Don't know what other mods you have - it does say it works in conjunction with your other mods..... 3) I think the only reason you thought install was tricky is you had used item, maybe with no directions? Because if you had the directions, you would have seen how RRM suggests, strongly, like 5 times - soldering all connections. Now, I paid to have mine installed because I break things better than fix them, but that's not the point here. Noone else, I venture, has ever said it was "tricky.". I just prefer to have professionals handle all but batteries and oil/oil filters for me. Thats the limit.
I also think, that with my mods, it made a pretty fair difference. At first I did not think so - not really. After a couple days driving I was 100% convinced it improved performance - whether 1 hp or 10 hp... I wouldn't know.
So, I think for the sake of getting the instructions with the product (and was yours v1 or v2, cause I assume that would make a difference), having heir technical assistance, its worth the price.
Of course I bought mine right before they dropped the price about $50. such is life.

Greddy emanage, S-AFC, Haltech and megasquirt are all well known and well made piggyback ECUs. The RRM piggyback was not the first nor is it the "best" piggyback for the lancer. That being said I strongly support people getting it because it comes with a base tune you can work from, it's easy to use and you have great support available if something goes wrong.
Our piggyback offers the most for the money. That being said, it is pretuned and for many, that is priceless. Plus it is easiely installed and comes with specific instructions for the Lancer.
