K bringing back this thread. So did I read this right. The Evo 8 ecu 03-04 swaps right in. Switch two wires around. and it can run with the stock evo maps and idle settings? Or do i have to input my idle setings, maf settings etc and modify the af and timing maps again?

After swapping in the ecu you will have to paste all your map info into the evos to keep your idle and trims etc. in check

Not bad, I think my problem is I try to find the "best" deal around and let me be the first to say the "best" isnt always the way to go for sure.

I feel u on that one bro.. I could've bought one for $120 shipped out of a 03 evo, but the car was wrecked really bad. And i wwasnt trying to take any chances... U have thought us a lesson.. And let the whole lancer community know what it is buying a ecu that wont work.. Dont take it in a bad way or anything.. I say buy the product that you know for sure it works. I've learned alot about that from my experience..

Anyways, anyone lives close to cleveland, ohio or erie, pa even buffalo, ny? I offer 100% quality body and paint work! Pm me if interested!

If someone here thats running a evo 8 ecu, and knows what tey're doing.. I need alot of help.. I would offer a trade of some kind (kinda like u help me tune with evo 8 ecu, and i help u out with paint work.. Let me know.. I'm always willing to help out!!

Another question, what would i use for the injector scaling on the evo 8 ecu if i'm running dsm 450cc injectors with a resistor box? And yes i got a walborro 255??

Plz let me know

thanks!! Evo 8 ecu is one of my favorite mods so far!

so received my ecu, didnt test it yet since the turbo still isn't on the care, and was wondering if i'll be able to do this swap now befor i install the turbo, just having a few problems trying to find the right turbine shaft for my garrett t25, i have the same kit as turbokits.com and hoping a can push more than the 6psi they talk about if i'm running a mbc and a evo 8 ecu with fuel pump and injectors

You technically can install the ecu before the turbo install but trying to tune your na car with a turbo ecu will not be easy. Its an easy swap I would wait until after you turbo so you dont have to tune twice. You will need an intercooler if you dont have one to run more boost.

So tuning the Evo ecu for NA is hard? Maybe for my 4g64 i should stick to the laner ecu and just copy the fuel and igntion maps , maf settings , injector scaling ,etc to the lancer rom?

Tuning an Evo ROM will take more time because you have to go through every table and correct the values for your setup. You'd be better off just copying the 4G64 tables and maps into your Lancer ROM and be done with it.

senate help please...

I have tuning issues on a 2007 Lancer turbo... GT2860R on it... we made the ecu swap successfully... change the maf scaling, size, smoothing, etc etc... the car idles perfectly... mmmmm...

well, the car have the OEM maf (605) so we put this (stock values for the lancer na):

we didn't touch the injector size and latency, because the lancer have 550cc injectors for the evolution (not the oem ones, they are the "RC")...

well this is the issue... the car on neutral is getting fuel cut... about 5000rpm the cars tops the load and hit the 255 load fuel cut... we don't know if we have to modify anything else to have the evolution ecu working with the lancer stock maf...

well, because a log tells more than my spelling here is the log and the ecu rom... LOG: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WJO3B009 ROM: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J4PGC3I8

P.D. we can't get rid of the CELs too... I modified the xml file with dreamweaver but something's wrong... here is the xml: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=41BYK9EM

THANKS for your help

You might want to look at running the TephraMod ROM to resolve the load fuel cut. You should also look at adjusting the latencies for your 550cc RC injectors. Installing either a 501 MAF from a 4G64 Eclipse or 399 MAF from the Evo to better register the added airflow under boost. What CEL codes are you throwing right now?

ok... now we are going in the right direction with the boost cut problem... I put a 94170008 rom on it, stock unmodified (not tephras), and we put the scaling s and everything from the beginning and now had no boost cut problem...

the CEL codes are the P0141, P0441 and P1400... I have some knock problem on neutral, I don't know if the knock can be "phantom knock" I'm doing a log right now to see the fuel trims again, and I haven't go outside to test drive this rom yet...
