ZEX Ejector Air Amplifier
Have any of you guys/gals heard of the new ZEX Ejector Air Amplifier... Its a cone filter that you connect to your intake pipe/ short ram, and you can inject nitrous to the intake. And i think this is really smart because you can get colder air and at the same time nitrous.... Tell me what you guys think about it..

Nitrous on lance is really bad. The stock ecu doesn't correctly match timing and ignition points so there is detonation. On stock piston kiss your engine goodbye. With Forged pistons expect a couple months longer lasting than stock. Yes detonation will hurt forged pistons as well. It actually hammers the top ring land flat trapping the ring...scoring the cylinder walls as well! As for injecting into filter that is severely stupid for us as the mass air flow sensor will get hammered with nos freezing it. Then your ride will run like **** and hunt. Also you'll be spending around 400 bucks for a new one.
I know just about next to nothing on NOS, but it seems like a fairly decent idea. I'm sure it'll be hell for your engine, but couldn't you just tone it down a bit or get some stronger pistons? Where's Street when you need him?

Nos on turbo only good for getting rid of lag and even then you'll want to go with a wet system. You'll also need to buy an RPM window switch(+Relay+Tach Adaptar) to control the window of injection/shutoff automatically. Otherwise you have to rely on a button or switch and your reflexes. That is not a good way to go. As for a small shot i was running a 55 shot. NOS kit has a 40shot and that is as small as i know of. Even a 40 blew the motor. With CNC pistons you'll last a bit longer but detonation kills the motor and the stock ecu just doesn't adjust as it should for the shot. If you are going to do NOS you need to retard the timing at least 10 degrees... On a lancer most can't accomplish this. I know what it says on the ZEX kit but when i blew my motor twice on it all they said was "G that shouldn't have happened!" That really made me feel better
Then i asked if they would warranty anything or atleast give me my money back on the kit and they said "NO, HA HA!"
But go ahead and use NOS for a month or two. Then you can go through the engine yourself, and learn why it doesn't hold up, while your rebuilding it
