Anyone ever degree an RPW stage 1 cam?

I'm looking for information about an RPW stage 1 cam. I'm having a cylinder head ported and my machinist wants to flow match the ports to the valve openings. In order to do that I need the lift and duration on an RPW stage 1 cam for NA. I realize that I could get them myself if I ordered one, but I was hoping to get him started on the porting before I have to order the cam. Thanks in advance.

I've asked and asked and asked and Dave STILL has not given me that info. None of it. If you do get it, please post it.

I have been following many threads about the cam for some time and I know that RPW doesn't want to give out the info. I guess they want to stay the only aftermarket supplier of cams for 4G94 for a while yet, but Alchemist don't you have a stage 2 cam? You could degree the cam and get those numbers yourself. Of course I think you have to rmove the head to do that and since I'm more interested in stage 1 than stage 2 it doesn't do me any good, but if you wanted the numbers for your cam you could get them. I also know there are guys on this board with stage 1 cams and I was hoping one of them would have degreed it and would be willing to post up some specs. It hard to build a cylinder head to match a cam without specs. Not to mention the fact that the only way we have to tell if the cam is different from stock and how different is dyno results after it is installed. It would be nice to be able to tell a little more scientifically which cam would be the best match for whatever we are going to do to our engines. Just my 2 cents.

i figure a year or so after, they stopped giving out that information. dave seemed to have gotten pissed that people were asking for specs to have the cam made somewhere else. in another post, he just said that the mirage and lancer don't share any cams for any stage. surprised your cam didn't come with a spec sheet.

Yeah, I thought so too. I'd heard that they'd ben hearing "Bad things" about their cams from people who'd never bought them and from more people than they'd sold the cams to. They figured out that a coupld folks had give the spec sheet to their local machine shop and had one ground- but not as well as the RPW product IIRC they STILL offered tech support for the cloned cams, but stopped offering the specs.

I did not receive a spec sheet. I really don't care at this point because the car runs

I can tell you for a fact, there was one Mirager in California, who asked Dave for the RPW specs, cloned the cams and then started selling them (albeit they were regrinds). No doubt that added fuel to the fire.

Well, FWIW I don't think anyone on these boards has that kind of sinister ambitions. Good find, rhyzin.

yeah thanks rhyzin, I did a search, but I guess I just didn't go back far enough. That'll teach me to assume it would only be newer info.
