Mil elimnator + emissions

I am going to install my RRM header in a couple of weeks and I don't feel like having my CEL come on so I am also going to install a Mil elimnator. I am going to be living in a place that does emissions testing, and of course I will just put the stock header back on for that when the time comes. My question: Is installing the Mil elimnator considered tampering with emissions, if so will they fail me for it? If it is just a visual thing does anybody know of a good place to hide the Mil eliminator out of sight?

i believe the MIL is considered tampering with emissions. but if you get some heat shrink tube and cover the whole wiring assembly in it to make it look stock, you should be fine. most DEQ people dont know their *** from their elbow. they told me one time that my blazer didnt even have an exhaust system when it just dumped under the rear axle, lol.
