gonna fill up the tank tonight!!

In response to all of the picture heavy "I just washed my car" and "debadged trunk" threads, I decided that I need to start the most inane, brainless, picture-heavy thread I could think of. So here it is. I'll be posting before and after pics of the gas cap, door and fuel gauge so everyone knows what they look like (because you've never seen them before, right?) I'll also post before and after pics of the pump.

Wish me luck!!!

make sure to post a how-to and a review of how it feels when you're done

Alchemist Mar 18, 2005 04:16 PM

good thinking!! I'll include pics of the "fuel install" too

Theibault Mar 18, 2005 04:16 PM

You mean I have to put gas in it?

;)

twisty1251 Mar 18, 2005 04:49 PM

also get a before and after dyno^

blacklancerr Mar 18, 2005 04:50 PM

DIY!! please...i've been needing to do this for the longest time!

Alchemist Mar 18, 2005 04:54 PM

oh yeah, I'll be doing the "self serve" option. Even though this gas station has a "full serve" I think I can handle it myself.

I did this a few times before and the net gain was 0hp and 0tq over stock {thumbup}

Once I get the pics, do you think I cen get a mod to sticky it in "how to/ installations"

imapunkclaimer Mar 18, 2005 04:55 PM

you're doing it yourself!?!?!?! wtf, you crazy bastard. i heard of guys blowing their engines trying to attempt this alone. whatever good luck.

Hotshot940 Mar 18, 2005 04:56 PM

yeah this is a bad idea, i would definitly take it to a shop or some kind of professional for something like this.

good luck tho.

Alchemist Mar 18, 2005 04:58 PM

I'm havig second thoughts about the DIY, but it can't be any harder than porting and swapping my cylinder head, right? :dunno:

twisty1251 Mar 18, 2005 05:03 PM

DIY gas is definately a NO. u gotta have forged internals before even thinking about it. leave it to the professionals

WADADLIG_OZ Mar 18, 2005 05:13 PM

I think you can handle it EBoy. I just did it myself and it was much easier than I thought.
Its amazing what you can do if you just give it a try!!!!!!!!!!!!!
