Broken DP/Header bolt

So I was out in the garage trying to get the RRM exhaust manifold on and I snapped the head off one of the 19mm DP bolts. Is the DP threaded or is it just the manifold side that is? I'm hoping thats the case but I doubt it. I really don't want to drill it out or pay a shop to do it.

If your talking about the two bolts that hold the downpipe and gasket to the header, niether of those are threaded. It's just a nut and bolt. Just buy new bolts that are similar size and the nuts that go with them.

You sure neither are threaded because the bolts are and I' just assumed either the DP or manifold would've been.

Yeah what he said. Just go out and buy a replacement.

Thats good to hear then. I never would've thought that a threaded bolt like that would just have been slide in there like that.

Next time, you ever do an installation like this... Use some WD-40 and let it settle for a few minutes. Then take'em off.... Best to avoid having this happen.

I sprayed plenty of PB on them both a few times over the weekend before I even started.

^Yeah, it doesn't always works. My brother and I tried to break off some rusted nuts/bolts on his Integra to install new struts. But ended up actually breaking two Craftsmen sockets in the process. Oh well, free replacement horray!
